AKROPOLE Rīga invites families to a free Brīnumskapis concert performance

2025-02-11

On Sunday, 23 February, the shopping and entertainment centre AKROPOLE Rīga will host the children’s and parents’ favourite group Brīnumskapis with an exciting free concert programme to delight both young and old with energetic songs and dances.

Brīnumskapis is one of the most popular and largest music, dance and poetry programmes for families with children. Famous Latvian musicians participate in the project and transform into special characters during the concert performance: Kaķītis Laķītis (Ingus Ulmanis), music teacher Andris (Andris Sējāns), Malvīne (Karīna Rasa), dance teacher Kode (Egija Abaroviča), composer (Aigars Voitišķis), Tantiņš (Anrijs Grinbergs), and Rasiņš (Roberts Rasa).

“It is very important to us that AKROPOLE shopping centres are not only a place for everyday shopping for families with children but also a place where they feel welcome and can experience positive emotions. Brīnumskapis’ concert performance is our gift to our little visitors, and we are delighted that very soon, the AKROPOLE Rīga premises will be filled with the songs and dances of this wonderful group, as well as the laughter of children. We believe that this concert will not only bring new and heartfelt but also nostalgic feelings to families,” says Kaspars Beitiņš, CEO of SIA Akropole Latvija.

Composer of Brīnumskapis Andris Sējāns says: “After taking a few years off from performing, we missed seeing the happy faces of the children, so we decided to return to the stage. We are happy that visitors of AKROPOLE Rīga will be among the first to enjoy the reunion of Brīnumskapis and enjoy singing and dancing together. We are looking forward to seeing everyone!” Meanwhile, musician Ingus Ulmanis, another long-time member of the project, recalls with pleasure that Brīnumskapis was once a very popular event that delighted viewers on TV screens and at countless concerts across Latvia. “I think that back then we gave hidden treasures to the children and did not simplify the narrative because the lyrics were both profound and meaningful. There were also colourful sets and a wide variety of characters, as Brīnumskapis was home to moths, Māsiņas Puteklītes, and the little girl Malvīne. Both my daughters, Lota and Līva, have also grown up with this project,” he adds.

At the concert, visitors will be able to enjoy songs loved by several generations, such as “Māsiņas Puteklītes”, “Mācītais Kaķītis Laķītis”, “Atskaņas”, “Kāmis un burkāns”, “Deju skolotāja Kode” and others.

The event will take place on 23 February in the event area between entrances A and F of the shopping centre AKROPOLE Rīga (Latgales iela 257) and will be free of charge. The concert starts at 14.00 and ends at 15.00. Seating is limited, so early arrival is recommended.
