All previously closed stores will gradually reopen at the Akropole shopping centre

2021-06-02

From today, June 2, with all the necessary safety measures in place, part of the stores and service providers in the Akropole shopping and entertainment centre will resume on-site operations. Starting from June 3, after extended closure, other stores will also reopen. In total 73 outlets will gradually reopen, providing long-anticipated on-site shopping. Other stores that have already been open are continuing to operate as usual.

Latest information on availability of the stores will be published on the Akropole website and on social networks.

“After an extended pause of more than six months, we are preparing with immense joy for an active welcoming of visitors to ensure that everyone finds what they need for the summer season comfortably, quickly, and, most importantly, safely! We have greatly missed our visitors. I am pleased to announce that new merchants have joined the ranks of Akropole tenants, however, we invite everyone to keep safety measures in mind whilst enjoying some long-awaited shopping sprees. Safety is and will continue to be a priority of Akropole, therefore, spacious corridors, air purification equipment, regular surface disinfection, as well as other measures to reduce the spread of the virus will remain an integral part of our daily life,” emphasises Zane Kaktiņa, Manager of the Akropole Shopping and Entertainment Centre.

Four new outlets have joined the other Akropole tenants, bringing the total to almost 170 tenants. The MILANI children’s shoe store has opened its doors on the 2nd floor of the shopping centre, and another newcomer, the Marco Polo fashion goods store, will also start operating. Meanwhile, smoking equipment retailers IQOS and Royal Smoke have opened new stores in addition to their existing sales stands.

The safety of both visitors and people working on the premises of the shopping centre will continue to be a priority of Akropole, constantly ensuring:

  • the use of mouth and nose coverings by both visitors and staff;
  • visitor flow control to prevent visitor gatherings;
  • compliance with the maximum number of visitors allowed by using the modern Sensormatic ShopperTrak system, which calculates the flow of visitors online and provides the Akropole administration with continuous information on the current number of visitors. In addition, everyone will have access to a real-time visitor flow traffic light on the Akropole website, making it especially easy for people to find out how busy the shopping centre is and plan safe shopping accordingly;
  • fresh air ventilation throughout the day in the premises of the shopping centre and air purification in elevators with the help of special equipment;
  • automatic UV disinfection of escalator handles, the availability of touchless hand disinfection equipment, and a range of other safety measures.
