Apollo Kino will be reopened at Akropole Shopping and Entertainment Centre

From 16 June, the visitors' favourite Apollo Kino will be reopened in the Akropole shopping and entertainment centre – once again, it will be possible to watch films in the movie theatre with its nine audiences, including the first and only IMAX cinema theatre in Latvia. Taking care of the health and comfort of the visitors, the cinema team implements all the necessary safety measures.

Just as the entire shopping and entertainment centre, Apollo Kino has a number of security measures in place. Taking care of the visitors, the cinema chairs are cleaned after each screening, the direct-contact surfaces located in the self-service area of ​​the cinema are cleaned once an hour, as well as no more than 100 people or 50% of the number of each audience seats can be occupied at the same time. The Apollo Kino team invites its visitors to observe a 2 m distance, disinfect their hands before and after the screening, reduce the circulation of cash and take the seats indicated in the ticket. The repertoire of films is available on the Apollo Kino website, and to make your return to cinema even more enjoyable, the cinema offers to buy two cinema gift tickets for a special price – EUR 12. The promotion is valid from 16 June to 10 July 10 (inclusive).

 

A unique and exciting experience at Apollo Kino starts from the moment of the ticket purchase, as this is the first movie theatre in Latvia, where visitors can buy both tickets and selected drinks and snacks at specially equipped self-service cash registers. The cash register system is designed so that the purchase process is quick, easy and enjoyable for every customer, thus preventing the usual queues at the cash registers. This will also allow to effectively implement the necessary safety measures – keep a safe distance and avoid crowding.

Visitors have access to 9 different audiences, including two cinema restaurant audiences and the first IMAX movie theatre in Latvia. When choosing an audience, movie lovers can also choose from three types of seats – Club seats equipped with an anatomically adjusted high-quality chair, Double seats with the possibility to watch a movie on a double sofa, and luxury seats – Star seats for especially comfortable and undisturbed movie enjoyment. Barco 4K laser projectors are installed in all audiences, which provide excellent image quality in both 2D and 3D format. Audiences are equipped with Dolby ATMOS and 7.1 sound systems that deliver powerful and multidimensional sound. In the first and the only IMAX movie theatre in Latvia, you can enjoy the most intense movie watching experience – it is equipped with one of the world's first IMAX new 3D laser projection systems and a three-dimensional sound system.

 

Even after the end of the state of emergency, Akropole shopping and entertainment centre provides all the necessary measures for safe and convenient shopping. At each entrance, hand disinfectants are placed, which are regularly refilled, in addition to standard cleaning requirements intense cleaning of contact surfaces with disinfectants is performed. Besides, Akropole ventilation systems are switched from circulation mode to fresh air mode, which together with air filters ensure that the air inside the shopping and entertainment centre is cleaner than the air outside. The wide corridors of Akropole allow you to make purchases safely without difficulty keeping your distance from other visitors, and posters encourage visitors not to crowd and keep the distance. Besides, protective glass has been installed in the Akropole info centre and Business Centre reception, shopping and entertainment centre recreation areas have been redesigned, ensuring a distance of 2 m between seats, as well as all employees closely monitor their health and are asked to use all the necessary protective equipment.

 

Akropole is not only the newest and most modern shopping and entertainment centre in Latvia, but also the first shopping and entertainment centre which, thanks to the highest energy efficiency and sustainability standards, has received the prestige BREEAM certificate at the designing and also at the construction stage. Akropole has also been recognized as the winner in the nomination category “The Best New Public Building” of the competition “Latvian Construction Annual Awards 2019” and has been acknowledged as the best BIM object in the show “The Best Building of the Year in Latvia 2019”.
