Changes in opening hours and activities during the solstice week at AKROPOLE shopping centres

On Līgo and Jāņi, the shopping and entertainment centres AKROPOLE Rīga and AKROPOLE Alfa will change their opening hours. At the same time, in celebration of the summer solstice, both shopping centres will be in a festive mood with Līgo decorations, special festive traders and wreath weaving workshops, which are free of charge for all visitors.

“This year too, we want to give our visitors the opportunity to get everything they need for the festive table, gifts for loved ones and Līgo traditions all in one place. Throughout the solstice week, both AKROPOLE shopping centres will be in a festive mood and the wide range of shops will be accompanied by special Līgo traders, so that everyone can easily find the essentials for a joyful celebration, as well as dress up according to the best summer holiday traditions. We also invite everyone to participate in the special solstice wreath weaving workshops,” comments Aija Urbāne-Orbāne, marketing manager of AKROPOLE shopping centres.

Special festive traders will be present in both AKROPOLE shopping centres from 17 to 23 June to make it easy and convenient to buy everything you need for Līgo before the holidays. At AKROPOLE Rīga by entrances C and D and at AKROPOLE Alfa by entrance A, visitors will be able to buy designer head ornaments, hair and other accessories, crowns, quality artificial flower wreaths and festive decorations from KŌRAS vainagi. The Aromātu fabrika stand will sell exquisite Odoro home fragrances, beautiful pottery products and interior design items from Daiļrade Guntve, as well as stylish gifts from Keel Design, while during this festive season, Sidrabkoks will offer the opportunity to buy quality wooden tableware and products for excellent midsummer gifts. Lovers of home-produced gastronomic delights will have the opportunity to buy Latvian berry and fruit wines and delicious Soira cheeses from Ledus vīni at AKROPOLE Rīga.

To dress up according to the traditions of Midsummer, on the solstice day, 21 June, from 15:00 to 19:00, wreath-making workshops will be held in the event area of AKROPOLE Rīga between entrances A and F and in the central square of AKROPOLE Alfa near the information centre. Everyone will have the opportunity to weave wreaths symbolising strength, prosperity, sun and joy from oak branches, flowers and plants gathered in the meadow, for free.

The opening hours of both AKROPOLE shopping centres will also change during the solstice week: on 23 June, the opening hours will be one hour shorter – from 10:00 to 20:00, while on 24 June, both shopping centres will be closed, but some shops and service providers will have different opening hours from those of the shopping centre and will be open during the opening hours listed below.

Opening hours of certain tenants at AKROPOLE Rīga (Maskavas street 257) on the following holidays:

• On 23 June, the supermarket Maxima XXX will be open from 8:00 to 22:00 and on 24 June from 9:00 to 23:00;
• On 23 June, Euroaptieka will be open from 9:00 to 20:00 and on 24 June from 10:00 to 19:00;
• Lemon Gym will be open 24 hours a day;
• On 23 June, Apollo Kino AKROPOLE Rīga will work from 10:00 to 20:00 and on 24 June from 14:00 to 21:00;
• On 23 June, the medical centre will be open from 10:00 to 18:00 and closed on 24 June;
• On 23 June, Swedbank and Citadele banks will be open from 10:00 to 19:00 but on 24 June will be closed.

Opening hours of certain tenants at AKROPOLE Alfa (Brīvības avenue 372) on the following holidays:

• On 23 June, the supermarket Rimi will be open from 8:00 to 21:00 and on 24 June from 10:00 to 22:00;
• On 23 June, My Fitness will be open from 9:00 to 20:00 but will be closed on 24 June;
• On 23 June, Cinamon Akropole Alfa will be open from 10:00 to 20:00 and on 24 June from 12:00 to 21:00;
• On 23 June, Swedbank, Citadele and SEB banks will be open from 10:00 to 19:00 but will be closed on 24 June.
