From December 6th until New Year’s Eve, the shopping and entertainment centre Akropole will be taken over by Christmas spirit and a truly festive atmosphere. Christmas decorations, fairs, workshops, meetings with Santa Claus, a Christmas concert and a whole lot of other events – in December Akropole will offer pleasant surprises for every visitor of the shopping and entertainment centre.
“In December the shopping and entertainment centre Akropole will literally light up - unbelievably beautiful Christmas decorations made up of thousands of lights will please the eye of the visitors all throughout the centre, starting already at the entrances. That, of course, is not the only thing – in the anticipation of the most merry holiday of the year we have provided the possibility to purchase a Christmas tree here, in Akropole, and we have also organized a Christmas market and provided possibilities to call Santa Claus in the North Pole and skate between ice sculptures, as well as other surprises. This is the first Christmas of Akropole and we want to make it truly special. And we would like to invite everyone to celebrate it together with us!” says Zane Kaktiņa, head of the shopping and entertainment centre Akropole.
Since the beginning of December, the visitors of Akropole can enjoy impressive festive decorations which are visible already from the outside of the shopping and entertainment centre. On top of that, the festive atmosphere created inside Akropole will surprise everyone – thousands of shiny LED lights, magnificent chandeliers, Christmas decorations, snowflakes and golden ornaments can be found all over the shopping and entertainment centre. The magical atmosphere is enhanced by a thoughtfully designed event zone where the visitors can find the throne of Santa Claus, an impressive golden photo frame for photoshoots, as well as richly decorated Christmas trees. The festive spirit and ornaments in Akropole are provided by the company Multidekor.
You will find a true fairy tale world in the event zone between A and F entrances. This is where, from December 6th to December 20th the special Akropole’s phone booth will be located. The children will be able to use this phone booth to make a phone call to North Pole to speak to Santa Claus himself! In addition, Santa Claus will visit Akropole in person on December 21st and 22nd, so there will be a chance to have a conversation, tell him your Christmas wishes and take photos. Heartwarming moments are guaranteed!
In the event zone, where a part of the Christmas market will be located, next to the big Christmas tree, the throne of Santa Claus and a splendid photo frame is located – this is the best place for taking festive photos. Here, on December 14th and 15th, visitors will be able to create personalized postcards – it will be possible to take pictures in the special frame alongside Christmas decorations and Akropole’s elves will send the postcard with festive greetings to your loved ones.
Akropole’s Christmas market, which will be open from December 6th until New Year’s Eve, is a great addition to an already wide range of stores where everyone can find gifts for their loved ones. Here you will find a wide choice of delicacies, for example, gingerbread cookies and chocolate, honey, candy and candied fruit, as well as leather and wood crafts, knitted garments, home decors, handmade candles, teas and wines as well as other holiday surprises. Furthermore, it will also be possible to buy a Christmas tree outside the shopping and entertainment centre. Also, on three consecutive Saturdays from 13.00 to 17.00, exciting workshops for children and their parents will take place – on December 7th there will be a workshop on making Christmas tree decorations, on December 14th everyone will be able to learn how to decorate gingerbread cookies, and on December 21st it will be possible to learn gift wrapping skills together.
But on December 19th, a heartfelt event will occur – the participants of the show X Faktors will perform in a concert in the Christmas spirit. The performers include the winner of show’s third season as well as other fan favourites. You can expect a wonderful atmosphere and moving performances, as well as different surprises from the shopping and entertainment centre!
We also invite you to take a look at the creation of ice sculptures on December 21st in Akropole’s ice arena. Until 16.00 artists will create ice sculptures that will be more than two metres tall. After that the arena will be open for visitors and until December 26th the visitors will be able to enjoy ice skating around the magnificent ice sculptures and take pictures with them.
