Meet or call Santa Claus – AKROPOLE shopping centres inform about opening hours and offer various events

While waiting for Christmas, shopping centres AKROPOLE Alfa and AKROPOLE Rīga invite visitors to various interesting events, including an opportunity to visit the festive gift and treat market, improve creative skills in master classes and workshops, and meet Santa Claus. The administration of AKROPOLE shopping centres also draws attention to the changes in opening hours at Christmas and New Year’s.

Families are invited to enjoy a colourful festive programme and entertainment options

Both shopping centres will be hosting Christmas markets until 30 December, where everyone can find gifts and festive essentials. The markets bring together a range of local businesses offering not only tea, gingerbread and honey but also very unique gifts such as plant terrariums and 3D printed dishes and vases. The Christmas markets can be found on the 2^nd floor of AKROPOLE Alfa, in the square in front of Camel Active and in the adjacent hallway; in the event area of AKROPOLE Rīga between entrances A and F and in the hallway between entrances B and C. At the same time, Christmas tree sales have already started in the parking areas of both shopping centres – AKROPOLE Alfa near entrance B and AKROPOLE Rīga near entrance E.

Young and older visitors alike will be able to get creative, with Christmas card and “Fun Pencils” workshops taking place on 16 and 17 December. And from 15 December until Christmas, everyone will have the opportunity to meet Santa Claus in person at both shopping centres to discuss their most cherished festive wishes. At AKROPOLE Alfa you will be able to meet Santa Claus in the central square by the Christmas tree from 15 to 24 December, and at AKROPOLE Rīga in the event area by the Christmas tree between entrances A and F from 15 to 17 December and from 22 to 24 December.

You will also be able to meet the AKROPOLE Alfa and AKROPOLE Rīga mascots in the hallways of the shopping centres, who will surprise everyone with sweet festive gifts.

Another very special activity, which will probably appeal to the youngest visitors, will be the opportunity to call Santa Claus from a specially installed red telephone booth. The booth will be open to visitors of AKROPOLE Rīga from 11 to 14 December and from 18 to 21 December.

Changes in opening hours during the holidays

On 24 December, the shops and service outlets of AKROPOLE Rīga and AKROPOLE Alfa shopping centres will be open from 10.00 to 20.00, on 25 December from 12.00 to 21.00, but on 31 December from 10.00 to 20.00. However, on 1 January, the shopping centres will be partially closed, and only certain categories of stores and service outlets will be open. Their opening hours:

• Rimi opening hours on 24 December from 8.00 to 22.00, on 25 December from 9.00 to 23.00, on 31 December from 8.00 to 21.00, on 1 January from 11.00 to 22.00.
• MyFitness opening hours on 24 and 31 December from 10.00 to 20.00, on 25 December from 10.00 to 21.00, on 1 January – closed.
• CINAMON cinema opening hours on 24 and 31 December from 10.00 to 20.00, on 25 December and 1 January from 12.00 to 22.30.
• Commercial bank branch opening hours on 24, 26 and 31 December from 10.00 to 19.00, on 25 December from 12.00 to 19.00, on 1 January – closed.

AKROPOLE Rīga (Maskavas iela 257)

• Maxima XXX opening hours on 24 and 31 December from 8.00 to 21.00, on 25 December from 10.00 to 23.00, on 1 January from 11.00 to 23.00.
• Lemon Gym will be open 24/7 on all holidays, including 1 January.
