As of today, 1st of April, Valdis Portnajs, who has almost 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry and has previously managed a number of large hotels in Latvia, will take over the position of the Manager of the shopping and entertainment centre AKROPOLE Rīga. The new manager was selected through a competitive selection process.

Before joining AKROPOLE Rīga as Manager, Valdis Portnajs had been working in the hotel and hospitality industry since 2003. During his career, he has worked as Revenue Manager and Sales and Marketing Director at Riga’s Reval Hotel Latvija, Reval Hotel Elizabete, Reval Hotel Rīdzene (currently “Radisson Blu Latvija Conference & Spa Hotel”, “Radisson Blu Elizabete Riga” and “Radisson Blu Rīdzene Hotel”). Valdis Portnajs has also worked as General Manager of Astor Riga Hotel, and for the last seven years, he has managed Tallink Hotel Rīga and was one of the Members of the Board.
Valdis Portnajs holds a Professional Master's Degree in Business Administration from Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences, a Professional Engineer's Degree in Energy and Electrical Engineering (RTU) and a Professional Bachelor's Degree in Power Supply and Optimisation (RTU).
